Talking About Duct Maintenance and Repairs

Hello, my name is Edward McLaughlin. I am going to use my site to talk about duct cleaning and repair. The ducts running through your home send hot or cold air to each room in an effort to control temperatures. The temperature the system strives to achieve is set at the thermostat. Without cleaning and repairing the ducts, the air will fail to flow to the proper location, keeping temperatures at improper levels. I will talk about the different tools and techniques used by HVAC contractors to maintain and fix the ducts. Please feel free to use the information on my site to keep your ductwork in perfect shape. Thanks for visiting.

How Commercial Heating Is Different From Residential Heating

Do you have a commercial building that you need to keep warm during the winter? This is a need that definitely needs to be addressed by a commercial HVAC contractor. Heating a large commercial building is much different from a residential home for the following reasons.

Capacity And Size

A commercial heating system is going to be more powerful and larger than a residential system. You need to be able to heat a space that is much larger and deliver that heat at a high volume. The needs of a commercial space are very different from a residential space, and you need someone that specializes in your specific need. If not, you could end up with an HVAC system that does not perform properly.

Control Systems

A residential heating system has a very simple control system. There is typically one thermostat that controls the heat for the entire home, and heating the home is an all-or-nothing situation. Commercial systems are quite different since there needs to be a more sophisticated control system. Individual offices will want control of the heat, which can be done with multiple thermostats, sensors, and dampers. Setting up a commercial heating solution is much harder than a residential solution because of this.

Ventilation

The ventilation needs in a commercial building are going to be much different, since you need to properly circulate the air and ensure that the air quality is good. There will need to be an exhaust and air filtration system running so that clean air is delivered to the entire building. A commercial HVAC contractor is also going to know where to place return air ducts so that heat travels across a room and returns back to the air handler properly.

Maintenance

The maintenance that is necessary for any commercial heating system is going to be different than a residential system. This is because commercial systems experience much more wear and tear when compared to residential systems. You are gone from your home the majority of the day, which results in heating your home for a small portion of the day. However, commercial heating systems must accommodate the long hours of a business, which can sometimes be 24 hours a day. In that type of situation, the furnace is constantly working, and maintenance is needed frequently to keep the system up and running.
